THE PREOPERATIVE FEATURES
- Very mild to moderate deflated, drooping, sagging breasts and the desire for breast
implants and a larger size is the only situation where a scarless breast lift will work.
- Nipples are usually at or just below the breast crease.
- Most of the breast volume is in the sagging lower portion of the breast.
- Nipples and areolae may be normal or enlarged.
- The desire for a more youthful, rounded, perky look and an enlarged and lifted breast.
THE PROCEDURE
- General anesthesia can be used and it takes about two hours.
- Incisions are very inconspicuous and hidden usually around the areolae, or in the
breast crease for the best results.
- Internal incisions to unfold the breast tissue and to lower the breast fold may
be necessary.
- A breast implant is always needed and the larger the size, the more the lift.
- The nipples and areolae will appear elevated to a slightly higher position and can
be reduced in diameter if desired.
- The only dressing is a surgical bra.
- This can be combined with other surgeries.
THE RECOVERY
- You can go home after several hours or stay overnight and shower on the next day.
- Mild pain for the first two days that is mostly gone by the third day and easily
controlled by medications.
- You will feel slightly groggy for the first two days and this rapidly improves.
- Swelling is mild to moderate for the first week after which it rapidly disappears.
- Usually only very mild or no bruising.
- Breasts are loose at the bottom with upper pole fullness for several weeks until
the implants fall into place then this improves and more lifted appearance develops.
- Resume many activities within the first week, and most by at least three weeks.
- No stitches to remove. They are all dissolvable.
- Off of work for five to seven days or less.
THE RESULT
- Elevated, full, and beautiful size and shape to the breasts.
- Very natural result that just gets better in time. Normal sensation and able to
breast feed.
- Softness and natural bounce that persists.
- Ability to resume exercise and engage in strenuous activities without restrictions.
- Natural and presentable appearance right away that just gets better over the next
three to six months.
