Shorter Recoverery Time with Little or No Scarring
The art of endoscopic surgery has spawned many
innovative techniques that have improved the standard plastic surgery procedures available today. These new methods have resulted
in smaller incision lines, and minimal or no visible scars after the surgery.
Fortunately, Breast Augmentation is
no exception. It is now possible to have breast enlargement surgery without the telltale incisions on or anywhere near the
breasts. No one has to know that you have had augmentation with breast implants but you.
The TUBA (Trans Umbilical
Breast Augmentation) technique, which provides insertion of breast implants through the belly button. It is performed on an
outpatient basis using general anesthesia.
How TUBA WorksA small incision is made in the belly
button. Through the incision, a slender instrument passes under the skin to a location behind the breast tissue. Next, a tissue
expander is inserted and placed under the breast. With the expander, a space is developed to create a pocket for the implant
size you have requested. The position and size is verified. Then an empty saline implant is placed in the pocket and filled
with sterile saline. The incision is closed with a few absorbable stitches.
Advantages of TUBA:
- Faster recovery
- Very little tissue trauma
- Less risk of injury to the sensory nerves of the nipple and breast
- Shorter operative time
- Single scar away from the breasts.
